Our Story

Eastern Dragon Karate School is one of the most successful and well respected Martial Arts schools in the area.  Grandmaster Robert E. Young, PhD MA, the founder of Eastern Dragon Karate, has combined his extensive knowledge of Shaolin Kempo, Kung Fu, Jui Jitsu, Aikido, Boxing and free style methods to create one of the most effective self defense programs available today, Aiki Kempo.

Grandmaster Young brings over twenty years of experience to the school and has trained many tournament champions as well as serving as a distinguished judge at many nationally ranked tournaments.  Grandmaster Young holds many prestigious martial arts awards, has been awarded Soke of his own Aiki Kempo system by the World Soke Council of Japan, and has attained a 10th Degree Black Belt.  Grandmaster Young also holds a PhD in Asian Martial Arts Philosophy.  In 2004 he was inducted into the USA and World Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

If you ask Grandmaster Young what his greatest achievement is he will tell you that it is in his student’s many accomplishments.  Some of Master Young’s students have been ranked #1 in New Hampshire by KRANE and ranked 8th in the world by Sport Karate International.

You will find Grandmaster Young in his dojo teaching classes to all ranks.  Knowing each and every student’s needs is something he prides himself on and takes very seriously.
