Eastern Dragon Founder Inducted into Hall of Fame

LACONIA – Eastern Dragon Karate and Self Defense Center of Laconia, announces that founder Bob Young was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame over the weekend in New York. Grandmaster Young, a 10th Degree Blackbelt in Aiki Kempo Karate, has taught in the lakes region for over eighteen years. Nominated by his peers, Young’s induction in the Hall of Fame is recognition of his efforts to ensure his students excel in their skills and abilities while maintaining the highest integrity and honor for the future of martial arts.
"Dashi" is the proper designation for an individual who has attained the Grandmaster status. Dashi Young was promoted to 10th degree by the world soke council of Japan in 2004 and granted soke of the Aiki Kempo system. The art of "Aiki Kempo" was developed from numerous styles of the martial arts, which strive to promote health and wisdom as well as strength. The ultimate in self-defense lay not in one particular style of fighting, but by the integration of various methods of fighting into one. The art of Aiki Kempo Karate, with its graceful movements for the development of internal energy and balance of the body's external strengths, is the essence for producing a superior fighter. Dashi Young believes that by applying the physical and mental aspects of the martial arts into your personal life, one will achieve harmony and balance.
